Im enlisting in the military and i have a question.?

I am a knife guy and i want a reliable comfortable and familiar knife to take into combat with me. (I know that you can only have issued gear in garrison so i know i wont have it there.) I have an old bowie that ive been using for years as a hunting knife. I would feel more comfortable if i could use it in the field if its allowed. Thanks for your answers.
