How to get my mind off my ex?

i lost my girlfriend of 8 months. i love her to death and cant stop thinking about her. i am now severly depressed. we did everything together and slept together every night. i need her back and dont know how to do it. she says she needs time to think about what she wants, she says she still loves me and she wants to see if at the end of a week if she wants to be with me still. do girls ever want to get back together with someone when they say that? is it just a line to get me to shut up and leave her alone for now then she will tell me she doesnt want to be with me for good anymore? i cant stop thinking about her and i cant sleep because i need her by my side i dont know whhat to do.
