Why is apple so expencive?

why is the apple company overpriced? is there a reason why their computers are like expencive as hell? seriously, u can get a windows computer with 2 times more hard drive and ram, and other stuff for like half the price of an apple computer. so why is apple so expencive? is it only becuz apple doesnt get viruses or am i missing out on soemthing?
